I was enble to make my onw NXT cables (part no: 55804) using a crimping tool. The velleman crimping tool (HT 2000D) is a tong which is meant to crimp 4, 6 or 8 pin connectors to flat cables like pin RJ11, RJ12, RJ45 cable plug connectors. NXT connector
plug is a 6 pin connector that is very much like a RJ12 connector. The latch is moved to the right of the connector and is smaller then RJ12 latch.
After removing the screw the crimping tool is able to connect NXT connectors/plugs to flat cable.
